Refreshed School Uniform!

From 2025 Whangaparāoa College has commenced the staggered introduction of a refreshed school uniform. The new uniform is compulsory for Year 7 learners, attending from the start of the 2025 school year as well as the 2025 Year 11 cohort.  The full implementation phase is as follows:

  • 2025: New uniform compulsory for Year 7, and Year 11 learners, and prefects.

  • 2026: Year 7-12 learners and prefects will be required to wear the new uniform.  The 2026 Year 13 cohort may continue to wear the old uniform for their last year, if they choose to.

  • 2027: All learners will be required to wear the new uniform.

Uniform Guidelines

Whangaparāoa College has high expectations regarding the wearing of the college uniform at all year levels. Learners are expected to wear the uniform correctly to and from school, at school or when on activities related to the college whether currently in the new or old school uniform.   Click on the button below for a link to the most recent guidelines for the correct wearing of the school uniform.

Other Uniform Items
PE Uniform
For physical education, learners will need to purchase the school PE uniform, also available from NZ Uniforms (note the PE uniform remains the same and is not changing in 2025).

Footwear
From January 2025, all learners will wear black, flat-heeled, covered shoes only.  Shoes must be entirely black, no coloured soles or coloured logos.  Shoes must be below the ankle and no sandals or Crocs are to be worn. Shoes are not required to be leather.

Socks
Plain black socks above the ankle.  Black opaque or flesh coloured stockings only, may be worn with the school uniform skirts.

Jackets/ Outerwear 
- All year levels may wear the new waterproof school jacket, or a plain dark blue or plain black waterproof rain jacket/coat (no puffer jackets) to and from school and at break times.  Please note, as outerwear, these items are not to be worn in classrooms.


Optional - Whangaparāoa College embroidered cap or bucket hats can be worn (no plain caps).

'Old' School Uniform

The following outlines the 'old' school uniform which will be phased out from 2025 onwards, as per the guidelines above.   Learners of any year level can move to the new uniform at any time during the implementation phase but it will not be compulsory to do so until the dates above for the respective year groups.

General Notes
  • Learners are expected to wear the correct school uniform at school, to and from school.
  • All uniform items can be purchased at NZ Uniforms or online NZ Uniforms.
  • All clothing is to be clearly named.

All uniform will be available online via a specialised school uniform shop run by NZ Uniforms at www.nzuniforms.com. Uniform can be purchased 6 days a week, weekdays 9 am - 5 pm and Saturday 9 am -1 pm, from the NZ Uniform shop - please click here for address details.
