Whangaparāoa College and Whangaparāoa Public Library Unite to Bridge the Digital Divide

Whangaparāoa College and Whangaparāoa Public Library Unite to Bridge the Digital Divide

The Recycle a Device (RAD) Club is proud to partner with Whangaparāoa Public Library to bring refurbished devices to those who need them most. Together, we’re helping learners and community members stay connected, informed, and ready for the future.

In Term 2, our two RAD Clubs worked tirelessly to refurbish 40 donated devices. Half of these went to Whangaparāoa College learners who had been without their own device for over a year and are now preparing for important exams.

This week, we celebrated another milestone, our first official delivery of refurbished devices to our community partner just across the road, Whangaparāoa Public Library. These devices will be made available to locals who need them, helping to break down barriers to digital access.

We’re incredibly grateful for the library’s commitment to digital equity and are excited to strengthen our partnership in the months ahead. Together, we’re not just repairing technology - we’re opening doors to opportunity.

A huge thank you to all our RAD Club members, staff, library partners, and community donors who make this work possible. Your time, skills, and generosity are helping to change lives.
